Hi all
can anyone tell me if there is an Australian standard or similar paint for light weatherwork grey BS381C number 676. The paint shops around me do not have it. They have all the other one I need but not the main hull colour any advice would be great.
Cheers Glen

Glen,
No Australian standard equivelant but I have had no trouble buying it in Dulux shops or Mitre 10.
Mitre 10 has it on their computer system as has Dulux. You just have to get them to look it up as BS381C 676 Light Weatherwork Grey. Try getting them to simply search for either 676 or Weatherwork.
If that fails, gt your Mitre 10 to ring up mine for info, Eatons at Forestville, 9452 1011.
regards,
Michael
PS Bunnings have it too but their people seem to think that a standard colour is one made by paint companies. Not too well trained and on occasion, can't be bothered to look up paint codes.

Glen,
Print these off and take them into the shop. I always use the Super Enamel Semi Gloss. Dries quickly if air brushed and with a decent brush, doesn't leave brush marks.

Thanks Michael I now have all the main colours to paint my RN fleet to come. I think I have enough paint to paint the entire RN fleet in 72 scale of course. Thanks for your help.

A pleasure but you only have hull paint for ships built after 1967/68. Before that they were a different colour. A lovely blue grey.
And of course, the RN regularly changed the deck paint colour, just to make life fun.
