Join Task Force 72

Joining TASK FORCE 72 Scale Model Ship Association Inc. is as simple as filling out the application form and posting to us (address below). It is open to all age groups and we encourage younger members who have an interest in this hobby to join. There is a lot of modelling experience in the Association, which can be passed onto the younger members.
If you cannot access the application form, please download Adobe Acrobat Reader from their site. If you have trouble downloading Acrobat Reader, please do not ask us for help as our technical department has rebelled and doesn't want to play that game anymore! :-)

The type of person you'll meet when you join Task Force 72. We generally keep him sedated!

We pride ourselves on being a happy and fun loving group who get together on a regular basis, not just to sail our models and discuss modelling, but on a social basis too and many great friendships have formed from a common interest in our hobby.

The only restriction is that future members must be building or have built a 1:72 scale vessel. This does not restrict our members from building other scale vessels, but on certain occasions, such as the Annual Regatta only 1:72 scale models are displayed. General running days are open to all scales.

Joining the Association entitles the new member to a number of advantages. They will receive a regular Newsletter “TF72 Update” usually six copies per year either electronically via email or by hard copy in the post.

These updates are put together by our members and all members are encouraged to write articles for inclusion. It contains articles on “What is happening with the club”, “How to do”, items for sale, reports on events and a schedule of displays coming up during the next few months and special articles on vessels or items of interest.

Each member receives a “Bridge-Card” which contains the names of all members and models they have or are building. If a new member requires assistance with information on a type of vessel, they simply contact the member that may have built a similar vessel previously. They will be happy to help out with what ever information they have.

When the opportunity arrives, members are often granted special tours of visiting Naval Vessels, Bases or Museums and these are organised outside of the usual “Open to Visitors” hours, to enable photos to be taken without the usual large crowds of general public in the way.

Certain Hobby shops and suppliers also offer discounts of up to 15% off regular prices to members upon showing of their club badge. These are supplied to a member upon joining and new discounts are published in the Updates.

If you have an interest in the hobby and think that TASK FORCE 72 is for you, come along to one of displays (Calendar of Events) or go to the ‘Contact” page and drop us a line. Then fill out the Membership Application Form and post to us, along with the appropriate fees, to:

TASK FORCE 72 HQ
PO Box 508
Forestville NSW 2087

We will be happy to “Welcome You Aboard”!
