Above is the map of the general area for the TASK FORCE 72's "Australia Day" (26th January 2006) display and running day at Cook and Phillip Park, Sydney. Drop off for models is on College Street and once completed, parking is available under the sports complex at the parking station off Cathedral Street. At the end of the day driving from the car park turn left into St Marys Street which takes you back up to College Street for pick up.

Entry is along College Street or William Street, but you have to be early as the streets are closed from 7.30am until 5pm for the NRMA Motorfest. It is a great day with an ideal spot with 200,000+ crowd during the day. Not really suitable for models over 2 metres unless they are manoeuvrable as it is rather narrow with a walkway down one side at mast height.

Lunch is provided by the Sydney Australia Day Organising Committee. Set up is between 7am and 7.30am and pack up from 5pm. Access passes are required for security and will be available from Ron Rosenberg.   You must inform him if you wish to attend as passes need to posted out to you prior to the event.  No pass, No Access.  Parking is being subsidised by the Australia Day Council and will be refunded by the Club to a total of $250.00.   Please note that footwear must be worn in the pond as the tiles are cracking and have sharp edges and may cause an injury.   From July the pond will close for renovations and may not be completed by Australia Day 2007.     Members will be informed at a later date on this matter.
