Enquiry into Disappearance of John French:  Several Committee members were contacted by Gosford Detective Jim Healy regarding the disappearance of John French in January 2004.  Allan Pew, David Rowlands and Chas Baxter attended the Coroners Inquest held last week.  Alan Pew reported that as a conclusion of the Inquest John has been pronounced “Deceased by means unknown”.

Update:  It came to the attention of the committee that several new members are not receiving the newsletter.  If this is indeed the case, it may appear that the new members names (that appear in the update) are not being added to the members list for distribution of the update.   Could this matter be addressed as soon as possible so that all financial members receive their copy of the newsletter either via email of by post.

Bridgecard:    The committee considers that the Bridgecard is an urgent time for attention.  Allan Pew will forward any information he has in his possession.  The format of the updated Bridgecard to be designed ASAP and the relevant information forwarded to John Hughes for completion at this years annual regatta (Nov 2006).  John is returning from overseas shortly and is prepared to ring each financial member to obtain up to date information.

Note: It has been suggested that members upon seeing these minutes or upon contact with members from Committee that they help John by mailing their up to date details of address, phone numbers, email, and models constructed or being constructed to him for inclusion and thus alleviating the cost of him having to call all members.  (RF)

New Members:  There was discussion on the attention (or Lack Of) we give our new members when they join the association.  At this time it appears we do nothing when they join.  Allan pew suggested a “Welcome Aboard” package containing, for example:  a copy of the latest update, copy of the Bridgecard, TF72 shirt badge (and anything else we can think of).  This presented by the President or if not the local committee member as close as possible to their joining date.  Also putting them in touch with members who have built or building similar models as theirs.

MarqueesPurchase of 2 marquees for use and storage in the Sydney area.  Moved:  Allan Pew, Sec:  John Konda.  Carried.  Suggested purchase at a camping gear store as these are usually far better quality than those from Hardware chains.   Allan Pew and Russ French investigating further.

Sick List:   Ron Rosenberg contacted Eric Hogben on Sunday 21 May.  Spoke to his wife bev.  Eric has been in hospital for a month.  Was home 18 days and readmitted to hospital for a further month.  Bev has also been in hospital but returned home today 21/5/06.  Both are reasonably well now.

Note:  Ron again rang this week and Eric has returned home Thursday 25/5/06.

Don Vautin remains in hospital after admission to Sutherland Hospital following a heart attack which was followed by a stroke.  He was transferred to St. George Hospital after a month.  Don has now been admitted to Furndale Nursing Home, Jersey Rd, Mortdale.  (Ph:  9570-5335)

Note:     Last report Sunday 21/5/06, was that Don is now using a walking frame and feeding himself.

We all wish them all a speedy recovery and hope to be in touch with them soon.  Our thoughts are with them.

Next Meeting:  next committee meeting will be held on Sunday the 9th of July following the AGM at Parramatta RSL Club, Parramatta.

Meeting held Sunday 26th March 2006

Bridge Card:  motion put forward by Allan pew that the bridge card (members listing) be redone and updated.  John Hughes has volunteered to carry out this task.  Will be designed by committee and produced by John H.   Seconded by John Konda.

AGM:  The AGM will be moved from Saturday the 8th of July 2006 to Sunday 9th July 2006 to alleviate the necessity of paying a fee of $110 for the use of the room at Parramatta RSL.    Facilities will be made available for free if held Sunday.   Jim C to arrange.

Annual Club Raffle:  Due to the lack of availability of the REVELL Flower Class Corvette Kit it was moved by Allan Pew to purchase at least 4 kits for future raffles.  Motion carried.  Jim C will arrange purchase for the club (10% discount offered to club)

Newsletter:   John Konda brought up the matter of lack of communication from the Editor (Pat Couch) and TF72 in answering emails sent by members for the inclusion in the newsletter.  John K and Dave Manning and other members have sent in reports, photos etc to Pat’s email without receiving acknowledgement and non appearance in the magazine.

Chairman pointed out the problems that the editor has had recently and that a temporary editor, Graham Pack, will be grateful for any information and articles for the update and these will be acknowledged and used in up coming issues of the newsletter.  Chairman apologized for any previous misunderstandings and all future reports for printing will be acknowledged.

Future Events:  to be added to coming events in the event calendar:
