Parramatta Spring Festival November 1st and 2nd 2003 Photo Gallery

Apart from a little wind and rain (Sunday afternoon) a great time was had at the Parramatta Spring Festival. This is the first time that TF72 has been invited to participate in this event and we don't think it will be the last. This year the Sunday's activities centred around the Freedom of Entry to the City of Parramatta by the newly commissioned HMAS PARRAMATTA (FFH-154) and the taking of the salute by the Chief of Defence Force Major-General Peter Cosgrove and the Mayor of Parramatta. Apart from a couple of minor collisions, which occasionally happen, the weekend was a great testing ground for this venue and for the new Aircraft Carrier, USS ENTERPRISE. Several photos of this monster on trials are below for you viewing pleasure. Well done to all those that attended and sailed and those also that just came down to lend moral support.

USS ENTERPRISE underway on the Parramatta River.

The super carrier underway with escort USS WINSTON S. CHURCHILL.

ENTERPRISE with escort at low speed. Not only is she the largest ship in the "Fleet" but has to be one of the fastest. This counts true with the real ships of the class as US Carries have been known to regularly exceed 40 Knots (about 80kph)

Underway with international escorts.   Ships from he USA, Canada, India and Russia in this photo.

Geoff Eastwood's beautiful HMCS ANNAPOLIS.  This is one of the finest models in the "Fleet".

CHURCHILL and ANNAPOLIS working together on the river.

INS KIRPAN a KHUKRI Class Corvette built by Allan Pew.  More Indian ships are currently being constructed to even more variety to our International Fleet.

INS KIRPAN departing following a delivery of 5500 "Beer Vindaloos".  A bit hard to get good take-a-way at sea.
