Spring training Mossvale 2003 Photo Gallery

The Moss vale weather proved to be a little fickle once again with it fine and sunny when most of us left home, but by mid morning it was blowing a gale!  Even with it being a little cool and blustery, a good day was had by all.  They travelled from Sydney, Canberra, Wagga Wagga and Newcastle areas to spend the day at the Southern Highland Winery.  Once again a big thank you to all that travelled so far for the day and a special thank you to our hosts, Eddie Rossi and his staff at the winery, who always make us feel most welcome.

USS HERNIA (oops) sorry ENTERPRISE enters her natural element once again with a little help from her friends.

ENTERPRISE is held securely to the wharf as batteries are loaded whilst the wind howled around us.

It's all hands on deck (literally) as ENTERPRISE is loaded with 8 lead acid batteries, similar in size to a small car battery as well as water ballast.

The internal workings of the monster.

"Zzzzzzzzz" Is this all everyone does at these things? Stand around trying to keep warm!!!!! Will someone please light the BBQ so we can get warm!!

At sea at last. ENTERPRISE heads out with her RESDES (Rescue Destroyer) in the form of USS WINSTON S. CHURCHILL.

Even on this lake it still looks big!!

CHURCHILL heads for home as ENTERPRISE continues her sea trials. Full power trials proved to be a very daunting task for her skipper, especially with the winds and trying to learn how this "mega" model handles. All 4.7metres and almost 250 kgs of her.

CHURCHILL makes a tight turn to keep clear of the carrier. The Destroyers must be on their toes to avoid going under the bows of the carrier, which of course happened several times in real life.
