Brisbane Regatta, Halpine Lake, 2005 Photo Gallery

Chris Rogers of Brisbane moved house recently and found that fortunately just down the road was a beautiful lake.   He thought what a great place to have a sail so he invited a few TF72 friends up for the long weekend to have a sail and a BBQ.   Turned out to be a bottler of a weekend.   Four carriers made the journey to Brisbane.  These included the carriers USS ENTERPRISE (Sydney), HMAS MELBOURNE (Wagga Wagga), HMS INVINCIBLE (Brisbane) and USS WILLIAM F. HALSEY (Wagga Wagga).  Several other vessels made long trips from Sydney and Wagga Wagga as well as all around the Brisbane area.    This will hopefully be a regular trip for many vessels.

USS WILLIAM F. HALSEY is a ship that
never quite made it.   The US congress
knocked back the design before it was
started.   .

from Wagga Wagga for the weekend sail.   .

My inner photographer sez this photo is damn good!

And this one too.

Ducks in a row.  Now where is my gun?
