Oasis Pool, Wagga Wagga Trial Running Day, September 2006 Photo Gallery

After a lot of ground work by Fleet Base Wagga Wagga Members, TF72 was asked along to the outdoor pool at the OASIS Swimming Centre in Wagga Wagga.   Arranged by Kerry James several members made the trek down from Sydney and Canberra to try out this new and potential new venue.  During the winter season (Easter to October) the outdoor pool is closed for swimming so the opportunity to use it was snapped up.   A huge range of models came along to "test the water" so to speak!     At present it is likely that TF72 will stage an event here at the OASIS Centre on alternating Easter long weekends (opposite to the ACT Sub regatta).   Keep an eye out for a weekend in the country at Easter 2007 as this is a fantastic venue with a Olympic sized pool, plenty of shade, under cover display area and a great canteen and pool staff who are more than willing to help all they can.
More on this later.

Two of Craig's models with his HMAS HAWKESBURY in the background and his USN LOS ANGELES Class Attack sub ready to head out on patrol.

KIOWA and HAWKESBURY alongside at the pool edge.   Ideal for berthing alongside with water right up to the edge of the pool with no step down.

The stern of Craig's HAWKESBURY.

Ron DeBruey's lovely USS KIOWA and what a great pennant number to have (TF-72).

USS JACKSONVILLE readies to dive.

JACKSONVILLE and BALLARAT have a standoff.  JACKSONVILLE has the advantage.

HMAS WOLLONGONG.  This is one of three HMAS WOLLONGONG's in Steve's fleet with his "BATHURST", "FREMANTLE" and new "ARMIDALE" Classes all represented.
