Regatta 2005 Photo Gallery (Ten years of fun)

Well, sometimes we weren't sure if we would make it but we did.  Ten years on and TF72 is still going strong.  A great weekend was had by all and we where very pleased with the number of members both past and present who where able to attend.  Over 60 member came along to be part of our celebrations.

We had a rather wet morning whilst setting up, however everyone got in there and got it done.   By the time our guests arrived the weather had started to clear to a magnificent Saturday afternoon and evening.     Our evening concluded as usual with a wonderful Chinese Banquet served at the lakeside and with a few glasses of fine wine followed by an evening sail, we all thought what a better way to spend the day.

Unfortunately the next day proved to be a day we would rather forget.  We woke to find it storming like we hadn't seen before at the lake.  Several of us met at the lake and decided that with it not looking like it was going to clear we had to abandon the rest of the regatta, pack up and head home.   It was a great shame. but we have no control over the weather.

Winners this year of our various awards where.  The "Bravo Zulu" presented by our guest reviewing officer was awarded to "GIUSEPPE GARIBALDI" built by John Slater.   The "Wentworth Shield" was awarded to the beautiful Modified Leander Class Cruiser HMAS PERTH Built by Ian Howard.    The "President's Award" was presented to David Batagol for his HMAS COLLINS.  David also won the "Engineering Award" for COLLINS for having it working so beautifully.   David was the only vessel on the water on Sunday during the bad weather.   Finally the "D'OH" Award or "Broken Anchor" was awarded to Jim Campion for his collision with his HMAS PARRAMATTA.

A final thank you to all those that attended the weekend (Or day as it turned out) and all those that helped with the chores of running such an event especially Graham Pack for organising the food for us all, John Konda for arranging the beautiful 10th Anniversary Cake and rest of the committee and members for pitching in and getting the marquees up (In the rain) and getting everything set up.   Well done all.
