| A selection of pictures from Sunday's run at Gosford, weather was fine but murderiously humid, practically no
breeze for a change, about 15 members in attendance, mount'n man Konda's first visit, as was Roy Matillano with his new
Russian Tarantule FAC freshly painted, and 4 of the usual suspects from south of the Hawkesbury, Rosey with his near
complete Jap destroyer, John Slater with near complete Type 21, (getting ever closer to that elusive paint tin) and
"Harry" Eastwood showing off his latest build, a cute little non warship, "Cape Don " a light house
tender, not operational yet, the real ship is being loveingly restored by a group of enthusiasts in Sydney Harbour. Vince Fazio ran his re-engined WW1 destroyer HMAS Anzac, a vast improvement over its last deployment in these northern waters, when she tried to impersonate an S.S.K. Speaking of submarines, Vince also wet his sub depot ship of WW1 vintage HMAS Platypus, she could never be mistaken for a sub !! Local Hunter members Wolfie, Ian , Richard and Chas played with various destroyers, corvettes, escort carriers, and Ian turned up with his grand old USS Paul F Foster a Spruance class DDG we haven't seen for quite a while, if I'm not mistaken, all the full scale Spruance's have now gone to the grave yard. Lastly, my new Indian build, the latest DDGs to come into commission in the Indian Navy, INS Mumbai, third ship of the Type 15 Delhi Class, had her maiden voyage lasting all of 2.5 minutes before the Vindaloo in the oven of the officers mess, reached critical heat and blew a fuse, rendering the drive train inoperable ! Goodness Grachsess Me !!! there she sat tied up at the edge of the pond for the rest of the day, fortunately, I had a backup vessel from the I.N. to deliver the vindaloo. INS Taragiri was the only Leander class frigate in sight this day, Thank God !! says everyone, we thought they were taking over the Task Force. Finally I must add, we finally have the knack of deploying and "un-deploying" the new Gazebo in an almost professional manner, thanks Guys. Author - Allan Pew. Click on a photo to enlarge.
